On a dusty dirt road north of Benson, we came across two self-supported cyclists. Of course, we had to stop and meet them.

Markus and Lisa, a young couple from Germany, have spent the past year and a half on the road. They began their trip in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Taking mostly backcountry roads to avoid traffic, they hoped to make it to San Jose, CA, by late April.

We wished them well and told them to look us up in Sacramento if they passed through. Happy travels, Markus and Lisa!
