MORRO STRAND

Just outside our campground, Morro Strand beach extends from Morro Rock up to Cayucos. Its full length is about nine miles, but any length makes for a great beach walk at low tide.

SANDSPIT HIKE

From the trailhead in Los Osos, we hiked to the Morro Bay sandspit, the sand dune that separates the bay from the open ocean. Sorry, Jeff, next time we'll hike to the end of the spit!

Sandspit connects to Los Osos at Shark Inlet Reaching the ocean side of the sandspit

Jay and Jeff examine a dead pelican and cut off the (smelly) end of its bill
