BIRD FEST WINERY TOUR
Now this is the way to bird! A little birding, a little wine tasting . . . . This year's Morro Bay Winter Bird Fest included a field trip to › Halter Ranch, an eco-friendly winery and vineyard on Paso Robles' west side. Winegrower Mitch Wyss loves wine and wildlife (see the winery Web site for his colorful bio).

Halter Ranch has a World Champion Tree! Actually, this tree is tied for the largest Coast Live Oak in the world (The co-champion is somewhere in the small town of Julian, CA).
