We took a day trip to historic Astoria, south of the Long Beach Peninsula across the Columbia River.

ASTORIA COLUMN

The Astoria Column sits on a hilltop
overlooking downtown Astoria.
It depicts the discovery and early
settlement of the Columbia River. It was
completed in 1926 and is 125 feet tall.
We climbed the spiral staircase to the top.
