Mt. Hood is visible from many vantage points in the Columbia Gorge. We decided to take a closer look, heading for the famous Timberline Lodge.

On the way, we fell in love with the Hood River Valley and toured farms and orchards along the Fruit Loop. This valley is lush with a diversity of fruits and vegetables, lined with fir forests, and bookended by Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams (in the northern distance).

From our campsite in White Salmon, WA, we had to cross the narrow Hood River Bridge to the town of Hood River and Mt. Hood. (On our arrival, we took our fifth wheel across this bridge!)
